BLUE CHIP NELSON GIANTS - If irrefutable evidence was needed that home advantage is indeed an advantage, it was provided at the Trafalgar Centre on Friday night. The Giants NBL final victory, which snapped an inconceivable decade-long streak without silverware, was played out in front of surely the most vocal and enthusiastic sporting crowd in the country. CANTERBURY BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION - The Canterbury Basketball Association Inc. is a not for profit sporting organisation established in 1972 to foster the growth, development and promotion of basketball in Canterbury. Prior to 1972 basketball was organised by both men’s and women’s Associations. The Canterbury Basketball Association currently has a six member Board, employs three staff members and has numerous committed volunteers. Eleven Life Members have been recognised by the Canterbury Basketball Association for their commitment to Canterbury Basketball over many years.
